As we’re learning about animals, I am reminded that zebras are amazing creatures! It is thought that a zebras stripes blend and camouflage with other zebras when running in a herd, making it more difficult for predators to see individuals. This may be one reason predators target the ones that get separated from the crowd. This zebra paper plate craft is perfect for our animal units, as is this Z is for Zebra Alphabet Craft. Zebra Paper Plate Craft
Zebra Paper Plate Craft Supplies
- Paper plates x 2
- Googly eyes
- Black craft paint
- Elmer’s glue
- White puffy paint
- Scissors
- Paint brushes

Buy your paper plates in bulk for paper plate crafts and store them in your craft cabinet, so you’re never out of this basic crafting necessity!

Zebra Paper Plate Craft Instructions
- Gather your supplies, including two paper plates.
- Cut out two rounded triangle ears, one larger oval nose, and a long triangle for the hair from the edge of one plate.
- Paint your long triangle and oval nose black and stripes into the ears and let dry.
- Cut fringe onto the long triangle to look like hair and glue onto the top back center of the plate.
- Then glue one ear on each side of the hair and the oval mouth onto the bottom center of the plate.
- Glue two googly eyes
above the nose.
- Use a small paint brush
to dip into your black paint and paint stripes onto the zebra’s face and let dry.
- Use your glue or puffy paint
to paint two small dots onto the center of the zebra’s nose and let dry.
- Optional – slap a magnet on the bag and hang this guy on the refrigerator!
