The Pumpkin Patch

Share the love!

We went on our first “homeschool fieldtrip” this week and joined three other homeschooling moms and their kidlets on a trip to the pumpkin patch.  I had actually cancelled, because it was a bit nippy and spitting rain, but when I told Mister that we were just going to stay in for the afternoon, he was really upset.  I HAD been telling them that we would go on a fun outing for school, so, it just wasn’t fair that I should cancel.

We’d been working on pumpkin activities all week, too.  We’ve counted pumpkins, learned the Five Little Pumpkins song (the version we learned said there were owls in the air), and all sorts of fun stuff.  So, not going was not an option.

Here are just a few of the snapshots I took of our day.

It was a really fun time, and well worth the wind burn on my hands.

I wanted to get a copy of Duck and Goose Find a Pumpkin, but it wasn’t available at the local library.  I imagine it’s a pretty popular title at this time of year.

Next up… homemade pumpkin pudding!
