Teaching God’s Word to little ones is always a fun privilege and if you are anything like me, you are constantly searching for new books and curriculum to aid you along the way. If you haven’t come across by Sally Lloyd-Jones and Sam Shammas yet, you are missing out! I love this version of the Bible and not just for little ones, it’s appropriate for all ages. Although it doesn’t go through the Bible word for word it captures some of the main stories and brings them to life with very descriptive language that is easy to “see” as you read

So let me tell you that I was excited to find a curriculum for my new found favorite children’s Bible – by Sally Lloyd-Jones and Sam Shammas.
The curriculum is created for early-middle elementary aged children, however after going through the materials I think it could easily be adapted for preschool aged children as well.
The curriculum includes:
- The Jesus Storybook Bible
- filled with 44 colorful stories
- DVD-ROM
- 44 printable lessons – with lesson plans, notes, memory verses and children’s handouts
- 44 animated bonus videos
- Getting Started Guide
- Curriculum Introduction
- Promotional materials
- 3 CDs
- containing a 3-7 minute video clip to accompany each story (44 video clips)
- The video clips are narrated animations. The animations are identical to the illustrations in the Storybook Bible.
One thing I think I would add to the curriculum lesson plans, if I had the power to do so, is a coloring page per story. I presume there isn’t one because this curriculum was created for the elementary age group. I do think this curriculum could easily be used for preschool-elementary aged children, and a coloring sheet would make it even better. I’m looking forward to using this curriculum and inviting the children to see Jesus at the center of it all.
