If you like board games, raise your hand! Envision that I am raising my hand right along with you, because I am a board game junkie!  I come from a long line of board game (or any game for that matter…) fanatics, and I can remember growing up and spending every weekend evening playing some sort of game with my family.  Even now, when my grown cousins, siblings, parents, aunt, uncle and grandma get together on holidays we still play games every single day of our holiday vacation together.  We are just a crazy board game playing family.  Growing up, one of my very favorite games was The Game of Life, by Hasbro Gaming.

I’m not sure what drew me to this game; maybe it was because it allowed me to dream about my future like I was already prone to doing (professional daydreamer, here!), or maybe it’s because there isn’t much skill involved which equals less opportunity for embarrassment.  Regardless, it was my favorite!  The Game of Life is just a good, wholesome, think-about-your-future-and-make-decisions-in-a safe-and-non-committal-way, kind of game, and for that, I love it.

Recently, my husband and I played this game just for fun!  As always, and very much like my real life, I chose the safe life route of stability and family rearing, while my husband chose to take chances and risk it all for fame and fortune!  What path will you choose in The Game of Life?

About Abby

Hey, all! My name is Abby. I am thirty years old and I live near St. Louis with my amazing family: my hot husband, and my three lovely daughters K (9 years), M (7 years), and A (2 yrs). I have the privilege of staying at home with my three girls and I wouldn’t change it for the world! Some of our hobbies include, but are not limited to: coloring, taking nature walks where we pick up every. single. bug. and blow every. single. dandelion. (No really- to live the carefree life of a child!), and play dress-up. My husband and I are youth pastors at our church, and I am currently training for my first half marathon! Yikes!

I played this game for years with my sisters and brothers when I was growing up. I have to say that it is one of the best board games out there. It has fun stuff to do, and I can play this for hours. I need to get this game for my niece and nephew to play.

I use to love filling the car with kids and when you would run out of room, I would lay them sideways and pile them up.
