I did it. I did it. I finished my first 5K of 2014. I mentioned in my These Shoes post that I was getting ready for a 5K. On April 26th, I joined six friends at the starting line for The Color Run St Louis.

Yep.
You read that right.
The starting time was delayed by NINETY minutes.
Standing on the hot asphalt in a throng of people for NINETY minutes wouldn’t have been so bad, had the race announcers done a better job of communicating to racers the cause of the delay. By 8:30 a.m. the racers around me were getting pretty frustrated. Around 9 a.m. the fact that there had been a car accident on course finally trickled back to the area I was standing in.
When our wave finally made it to the starting line, four of my teammates chose to run, and the other three of us chose to walk it.
Despite the delay, and the sunburn to my scalp, I really enjoyed The Color Run and hope to do it again next year. I will have to be intentional, though, about making sure those photogs take my picture on the race course so that I can order some.
Train for your next 5K with awesome run gear!

Great job on your first 5k of the year! If I was every going to do a run, I would want it to be a fun one… I’ve heard there’s one where “zombies” chase you! That would probably motivate me to keep going. 😉

I missed ours this year. 🙁 They always look like so much fun. Hope your Color Run was great and that the X2Performance is all you hope it to be.

He he he. I just can’t wear white shorts, Robin. As someone who had to wear white scrubs for more years than I care to count, it went against everything in me to wear the white shirt. LOL
