This is a sponsored campaign in partnership with Charmin and Acorn Influence. Opinions (and #pottytraining experiences) are my own.
Potty training. That transitional period when parents go from cleaning up diapers to cleaning up floors. I survived potty training my oldest two children, so I’m not sure why the same task with my youngest seems so daunting. Perhaps because she’s SO busy? Or because she is determined to have things her way?
Whatever the reason, there are a few certainties of potty training that I remind myself of as we prepare for this adventure, that I think every parent should know.
- Every child will have accidents and there will be messes to clean.
- Every child will struggle with proper wiping technique.
- You WILL end up saying, “Good job, I am so proud of you!” in reference to your child using the potty.
As you work with your child(ren) to understand the physical signals telling them when to go the bathroom, you’ll undoubtedly have a few accidents. This is actually a great time to remind them of how important it is to listen to their body, and to learn what is warning them to head to the bathroom. Reminding them gently that going in their underwear instead of the potty leads to yucky cleanup and a sore bottom will encourage them to continue going to the potty regularly.
Remember there is always a learning curve. Every child is different, and no one way is the right way to potty train. Some kids take to potty training right away. Other children will struggle with recognizing when their body needs to go or will resist change. Some will be so proud to show you that they pick up what they did and bring it for you to see. Potty training is a tough, dirty and not always fun process, but we have some tips to help you along the way. Charmin Ultra Soft does make potty training your child a lot easier to manage.
Nobody likes having that wet or yucky sticky feeling when they have an accident, but they also don’t like that feeling when they haven’t wiped properly. Charmin Ultra Soft is a great solution for the potty training family. Not only is it super soft and gentle on your kids bottoms, it is super durable. Charmin Ultra Soft has a thicker sheet of toilet paper which means it won’t rip or shred easily. So when it’s time to potty train, it is great for little bottoms because it means cleaner bottoms and cleaner hands, and as a potty training parent you will quickly understand why both of these are so very important.
When preparing to work with your toddler on potty training, make sure you stock up on the Charmin Ultra Soft Sam’s Club Pack.
