We enjoy all of the classic animated Christmas movies around here, and generally can’t wait until they start airing. We recently had the opportunity to review The Animated Stories from the New Testament Christmas Bundle. We’ve seen a couple of The Animated Stories from the New Testament from an old VHS set that was at our church, and I knew that my kids had enjoyed them, so I was glad for the opportunity to add this set to our collection.
This is the first time this set has been offered together as a Christmas 4-pack, and it includes The King is Born, Jesus, the Son of God, The Messiah Comes and The Kingdom of Heaven.
What I like about the set is that it is a dramatic retelling of actual Bible stories. The King is Born is about the birth of Jesus and is based on the Bible. The kids really enjoy watching as Mary and Joseph travel, and seeing Jesus portrayed on screen as a baby. Jesus, the Son of God is a retelling of Jesus’ early years. The Messiah Comes portrays the triumphal entry, death, and resurrection of Christ. The Kingdom of Heaven is a retelling of some of the parables of Jesus, including the Sower and the Seed, The Wheat and the Tares, and The Parable of the Ten Virgins.
Mister is very much an auditory kinectic learner, while Sister is very much a tactile visual learner, so this is a wonderful way to reinforce the stories that we are actually reading and learning.
The Christmas Bundle is priced at just $34.95 and includes free shipping. It would make a great stocking stuffer this Christmas!
Now I want to add some of the Old Testament stories to our collection, too!
I would love to have my grand kids watch this videos, it would be so educational for them and I want them to realize that the reason for the season is not only about Santa Clause and presents but it is the birth of our lord.
