My youngest niece, Delores, spent the night with us one night last year. After she put her pajamas on, she climbed up in my bed like she owned it. She was NOT happy with resting in the pack n play. Let me tell you, this little one is sweet and sassy!
She also has a special place in my heart. Soon after she was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, a characteristic of AEC syndrome, she was transferred to Cardinal Glennon, a pediatric hospital in St Louis. My sister, Denyse, was stuck in the outlying hospital after having just delivered, so she called me and asked me to go be with Delores in NICU. She’s had several corrective surgeries at this point, and I’m sure will need more. Gosh I love her little self!
