Whoop! Summer is here, and last week our family went to California on vacation. Knowing that we'd be spending at least one day at Huntington Beach, and knowing that according to the Skin Cancer Foundation, the risk of melanoma doubles after five or more sunburns, I had to get a new swimsuit. In addition to packing sunscreen, I partnered with Coolibar, makers of sun-protective clothing for the whole family, to bring a new swimsuit along on my trip.
Of course, I love that Coolibar swimwear is rated UPF 50+, so I know I'm protecting my largest organ.
I wanted the option of the removable crop-top with the convertible swim shirt, so I could protect even more of my skin when out in the California sun. The swim shirt has an athletic fit, so you can swim in it without the water drag of a regular tee shirt (which doesn't provide sun protection anyway). The material is quick dry, chlorine resistant, and saltwater resistant which means it will retain it's vibrant colors longer. Of course, the swim bra can be worn independent of the swim shirt, but no one needs to see that much of me. ;)
The side ruches on the swim skirt were great for shortening or lengthening the skirt to keep modest. When in the water, I used the drawstrings on each side to shorten it, but when out I lengthened it for modesty sake.
Whether by the poolside or the ocean side, I love the four-way stretch knit of Coolibar swimwear. The seams are smooth, the material is comfortable, and everything stayed put. I think I'm going to add the Coolibar Halter Tankini to my swimwear stash, too!
