Toddler bedtime….need I say more?!?! Actually, I must admit that our almost 2 year old goes to bed quite easily most nights and naps, but it’s those “other” times that can be an exhausting task. He is learning to stall, using whatever distraction he can conjure up. So I was more than willing to try the Soccer Sportz Starlite by Cloud b to see if it would assist in getting our little one in bed.
When I saw the soccer light I wasn’t convinced it would project enough light to shine in his room, but I was very wrong. It was hard to capture in a picture but when the light is in the middle of his room the stars shine on the ceiling and all four walls.
At first I was hesitant to use the light at bedtime in fear it would over stimulate him, especially since he was very excited when I showed him how it worked. So I started using it at nap time only. The light has two settings: solid blue stars or alternating blue, green and orange stars. After using the light during nap time, I learned my son prefers the solid blue stars to the alternating ones when trying to go to sleep. After about a week I tried the light at bedtime and my son was thrilled to have the stars on as we said good night. It is now a part of our bedtime routine: pj’s, read a book, prayers, lights out and then my son says “tars” (because he doesn’t always get the “s” out). The nice thing about the Sportz Starlites is that it turns itself off after 45 minutes so it’s not on all night long.
I recommend the Sportz Starlite for a fun addition to a child’s room and bedtime routine. And if I am being completely honest, I personally enjoy rocking my son in his room with the stars on as well.
