I haven’t purchased bar soap in years. Seventeen to be exact. Literally. I had to take a medical microbiology class in nursing school, and after learning about the bacteria that a shared bar of soap can harbor when marinating in it’s own liquid– plus the squish that happens on the bottom of the bar– I was just too skeeved out to buy bar soap any more. In fact, one of the first things I did when Hubs and I got married was to get rid of his stockpile of bar soap and replace it all with liquid soap. Yes, I was THAT wife, that demanded an immediate change in my husband’s routine. (Sorry, honey). Anyway, I recently learned about a revolutionary new soap dish, the Soap Seat, by Krevare, and was curious as to whether or not it’s claims held true.
SOAPSEAT is touted as the only draining soap dish that adapts to its environment. Because of it’s design, it takes on the look and blends in with it’s surroundings. It even adjusts to uneven surfaces (i.e. a raised sink rim). It’s unique design prevents it from filling with water, which in turn prevents your bar of soap from developing that bottom squish factor that skeeves me out. That in turn actually extends the life of your soap, and saves you money in the long run. The top tray is BPA free, removable, and dishwasher safe, which means you can avoid the gunky soap build up on it and keep germs and bacteria at bay.
So, what did I actually think of the SOAPSEAT?
Does the fact that I’m actually browsing handmade soaps tell you anything?
You can get your own SoapSeat on KickStarter. It’s just $20 for the Early Bird Special. You may think that’s a bit expensive, but when you consider that a decorator soap dish at the department store will cost you the same, and it will let your soap marinate in icky water, it’s a small price to pay!
Get yours today, and help them meet their KickStarter goal! There’s only 20 days left! These would make a great Christmas gift with some handmade soap, or even a wedding shower gift!
