I recently mentioned to Virginia that I wanted to whiten my teeth., so, when the opportunity to review custom teeth whitening trays at home became available, I just had to try Smile Brilliant!  Smile Brilliant is a St. Louis based company that provides lab direct, custom-fitted teeth whitening trays and whitening gel for home use.  I have to say that Smile Brilliant has the friendliest costumer service I have ever encountered. After I placed my order my starter kit came in 3 days!!! Wow that’s fast. Here’s what the kit looks like…

It was very easy to cast my own mold using the Smile Brilliant Dental Impression Pointers.

I sent in my mold and just another few days I received my custom fitted trays. A clear plastic mold of my own teeth.  How cool is that!  These custom fit trays are very thin.

They are very easy to wear for any length of time. The directions state that you can wear them anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. I started out trying to go for three hours. I will have to say that I am a little bit more sensitive then I would like to admit. If you’re sensitive like me, I’d recommend you starting out for 30 minutes.  This little tip will help you so much.  The directions say to clean your teeth first.  In my mind I thought the cleaner the better, so I brushed and flossed my teeth.  I’ve learned that, with my sensitivity, it is much easier to whiten my teeth with Smile Brilliant at home tooth whitening when I don’t pre-clean my teeth. Flossing disturbs your gums, that is what causes the sensitivity.   Smile Brilliant also has desentitizing gel that I recommend. You put this on after you whiten your teeth each time. This also seals your teeth and prevents them from re-staining.

My front row of teeth on the top of my mouth have been chipped and fixed by a dentist. I was wondering if it would only whiten my natural teeth and if you would be able to see a difference. It didn’t do that. I still have a very natural looking smile. I just love my Smile Brilliant smile!
