We received admission to Silver Dollar City as part of #ExploreBranson, a promotional blogger tour of Branson, MO, through the US Family Guide. All experiences and opinions are my own.
I can remember wanting to visit Silver Dollar City as a kid, which means it’s been on my bucket list for a LONG time. When I saw that Silver Dollar City was included in our Explore Branson itinerary, a was little bit giddy and felt a little bit like a kid myself! Silver Dollar City, an 1880s theme park located near Branson, is an award winning theme park. It sits on 100 acres, has over 30 rides and attractions, boasts 12 restaurants and 60 shops, and proudly employs 1500 people–including 100 resident craftsmen.
I could have watched the artisans all day long. Mister and Sister had other ideas that did not include standing around…
But did include plenty of smiles, laughs, and rides! Even Little Miss jumped in on the action.
Mister and Hubs enjoyed the wave carousel…
and a Mister sized roller coaster…
After riding the wave carousel and the jumping leaping frogs, Sister decided she much to smell the flowers…
And show off her sass, which she has in abundance!
One ride that none of us braved, despite it’s many accolades, was the Outlaw Run.
Looks impressive, huh? The Outlaw Run is the world’s first wood coaster to send riders upside down THREE times. It was named as one of the 12 biggest game-changes in the history of theme park attractions by CNN.com. I’ll admire it from a distance… with my feet on the ground. LOL
Silver Dollar City features different themes and festivals throughout the year, including Family Spring Break Days, Young Christians’ Weekend, World-Fest, Bluegrass & BBQ, Star-Spangled Summer, Moonlight Madness, Southern Gospel Picnic, Country Music Weekend, National Harvest & Cowboys Festival, and an Old Time Christmas. Quite a few of those I’d like to attend, especially the National Harvest & Cowboys Festival which features a NEW Wild West Show with fancy trick riders and ropers, Native American dancers and more! Oh, and of course an Old Time Christmas would be just spectacular.
Our entire family enjoyed our visit to Silver Dollar City, and Mister said, “Mom, Silver Dollar City was the best ever. I hope we get to go back again and again!”
If you plan to travel to Branson, you really should get a season pass to Silver Dollar City . The cost of a season pass is less than the cost of 2 one-day tickets, so it could save you money the second time you visit!
What is your favorite thing to do in a theme park?

Once upon a time I would have gone on that Outlaw coaster. Now I’d opt for the swing ride.
(please get your family some sunglasses)
Looks like such a fun place. I’m not a roller coaster person, so I Like there is more to do there.
That looks like such a fun place. We have something similar up in NH that my kids love.
I would have ridden the Outlaw as a teen, Sarah. FWIW, everyone has sunglasses but the kids generally take theirs off and put them in the stroller caddy.
Our kids have sunglasses but won’t wear them, lol!
THAT LOOKS LIKE SO MUCH FUN! i WANT TO GO ON A ROAD TRIP AGAIN AND VISIT STATES WE HAVEN’T SEEN AN TRY OUT SOME OF THESE NEAT PLACES!
Christi- my son has two pairs, my oldest daughter has four pairs, and the baby has a pair. They are constantly taking them off and either putting them in the stroller caddy or the diaper bag! Of course, the baby just throws hers. LOL
There is no way I would go on that rollercoaster. It looks so scary lol! Sounds like you and your family had a great day. Thank you so much for sharing. I would love to go with my kids.
It is one awesome place to go. So many different things for all ages. Sounds like you had fun.
I lived in OK for most of my life. In all my years down there I think I was the only person who never went to Silver Dollar City. That was the family destination of choice it seemed by everyone I went to school with. Looks like you guys had a great time.
Aww that looks like some good family fun! Wow those cupcakes!!! They are my weakness lol
Aww that looks like some good family fun! Wow those cupcakes!!! They are my weakness lol
What a fun time it looks like you had! I want one of those cupcakes!
My son in law loves Silver Dollar City, but I’ve never been to Branson so I’ve never been. It’s on our family vacation to-visit list.
I love that Silver Dollar City has the Outlaw Run. I haven’t been to Branson yet, but would like to go one day. I usually like flying type rides at theme parks, but do not like roller coasters.
Next time I visit Branson we are definitely checking out Six Dollar City – looks like you guys had a blast! Season pass is the only way to go if you lived in the area or if you planned on being in the area for a extended vacation.
The Outlaw Run does look a bit scary. I do not think I would have braved that one either. It looks like it was a pretty awesome day with lots of memories made!
It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a theme park. This looks super fun. And LOOK at those cupcakes!!
The kids never want to take in the sights like we do, do they? I would love to watch the artisans, listen to musicians, but kids definitely have other plans!
I would love to take my Kids to Silver Dollar City. Looks like you had a good time.
The kids look like they had a great time! I used to love swings!
Solar energ is such a wonderful power source. I have seen it provide incredible power and energy savings and am enamored by it.
So much fun! We are at SDC a few times a year. There is so much to do!
This place looks like so much fun and the season passes are so reasonably priced. I wish we had something like this place where I live. Thanks for sharing all of the fun photos.
My family would have a blast there. We really need to schedule a trip to Branson!
It has been years since I have visited Silver Dollar City. By years I mean like ummmm 25!! I had totally forgotten it even existed and would love to take the kids now that I remember it is there! Thanks for the reminder!
You got me at cupcakes. Anyway, it looks like a super place to take the family!
First off the cupcakes look amazing, this place looks like a blast! I would love to go!
This looks like an awesome place! Fun for the whole family!
Those cupcakes? DELICIOUS looking. And look at the sass that your girl has lol
I didn’t know there was a wooden roller coaster that goes upside down. I’d have so been on that one in an instant. 😉
The trip looks fun (and sass in abundance is good 😉 ). Glad you had a good time!
What super pictures of your time at Silver Dollar City. It is on our to do list. I love the rides and food at theme parks!!! lol
Oh how fun! I love a fun day out with the family! The kids seemed really happy with all the fun and action!
Looks like such a blast! We went to Branson years ago, back when I was in high school. They’ve grown so much since then!
What a great family park. Looks like your kids had lots of fun and I am sure will want to go back for more.
I didn’t even know wood roller coasters could go upside down??? It sure looks like you and your family had a great time!
That is a great deal on the season pass! Looks like you guys had a great time in Branson!
My kids would have a blast here and so would I. If I’m ever that way I have to check it out. Thanks for sharing.
Oh gosh, that really does look like a day of fun! I’m pretty blown away by the inexpensive season pass price too.
I have never been. That looks like so much fun. I love seeing all the smiling faces!
That looks like a lot of fun! I love the wood roller coaster!
This looks like a lot of fun! I love the sass too! I don’t know if I ever remember seeing a double swing like that, but it’s neat and you got some great pics of them!
