Little Miss A has a new obsession: Sesame Street. I remember going through the Sesame Street/Elmo phase with both my older girls, and I was silently dreading getting back into the baby show thing. I have to admit though… I do appreciate the valuable educational lessons that make up each and every episode of Sesame Street.
Recently I got the “Good Sport” Sesame Street DVD. Although sport-themed, this episode is all about learning to be a good sport, considering other people’s feelings, and being true to oneself. While these lessons were definitely over the head of Miss A (15 months old), the colorful, happy characters, cute music, and fun skits are enough to entertain, and, on some level, educate, her when I need to cook dinner or clean up.
Case in point: while I don’t usually encourage Miss A to watch TV, the other day I was watching my friend’s son for a few hours and holy cow those two toddlers were busy! After two hours of chasing them around my house, retrieving toys thrown into the kitchen with my dogs, putting every. single. DVD. back into the entertainment center after they got pulled out by two little people no less than 15 times, I caved and turned on the Good Sport DVD. Voila! Two toddlers engrossed in Elmo!
Elmo to the rescue!
The DVD retails for $14.99 and is available wherever children’s movies are sold.
