As a Christian, I try to read my Bible daily. I say try because I sometimes fail to make it a priority. There are times when I allow the business of life to creep in and I realize that I haven’t read that day and am far beyond too exhausted to comprehend anything I read. It’s on days like these that I wish I could just lean back and listen to my Bible. I’ve had audio Bibles in the past, and rarely use them because they are all narrated by one person in a monotone voice– which despite being the most fascinating book on the planet, makes it too easy to fall asleep to. That’s why I recently agreed to try out NIV Live.
NIV Live is no boring monotone audio Bible, folks!
It’s a production featuring Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe Award-Winning Artists, Hollywood sound effects and the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. In 3D cinematic sound, they bring the bible to life. Even one of our favorite pastors, Craig Groeschel, is featured along with Cuba Gooding, Jr., Kirk Franklin, Patricia Heaton, and many more. The first edition was the 2007 audio book of the year! The second edition, which is what I received, is a 79-CD set that includes access to the mobile app and an online listening portal, making it accessible on any device – phone, iPod, tablet, laptop, etc!
