We had to get up bright and early this morning to be at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Mister is having surgery on his tear ducts again. The surgeon is going to attempt to place tear duct stints in both tear ducts again, as his tear ducts keep scarring closed because of chronic inflammation (secondary to the Hay Wells Syndrome). This will be his fourth set of stints, if they are able to place them successfully.
The surgery waiting room is very kid friendly, with a large fish tank full of fish…
and various toys on the wall for the kids to play with.
Mister was happy to play until they called his name for us to go back to the pre-op area.
Once we got to the pre-op room, he realized he hadn’t had anything to eat or drink…
and became an unhappy camper when I told him couldn’t have anything and brought out the Sad Panda face.
Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait long for the good medicine (a cocktail of Versed and Tylenol) to make him not care!

Oh my, he really does have a woe is me face. 🙁

I sure do hope the surgery works for the little guy. It is no fun going through all that for an adult, and can’t imagine having to do it as a child. Hugs to him, and you!
