Where in the world is That Bald Chick? Here’s a few places I’ve been on the web…
I’m listed in the Top 50 US Mom Blogs by Cision and in the Top 100 Mom Bloggers by Healthcare Administrator, and Top 65 .
As an individual affected by ectodermal dysplasia, and as a Family Liasian for the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasia, it has been my pleasure to be involved in a fair amount of advocacy and educational press.
It isn’t often that I allow anyone to take my photo without my denture in. When my pal, Jodi, at the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias mentioned they were shifting their advocacy strategy, I popped them out quicker than you could say spit. Teeth are NOT just cosmetic. Oral conditions have an impact on overall health and wellness. This is important, y’all.
The NFED created a video about the ectodermal dysplasias, as well.
I’ve also been featured in various articles and interviews regarding life with ectodermal dysplasia.
On STLtoday, “Heat is touch on those with rare genetic disorder”
On Fox2News, “Family Copes with Not Being Able to Sweat in Heat Wave”
The article was also carried on the KPLR11.com sister site, “Family Copes with Not Being Able to Sweat in Heat Wave”
And picked up by DailyMail.UK, “The mother and son who can’t SWEAT… and face a daily battle to keep four-year-old below 74F”
As a contributing author on the NFED blog, I wrote “I Have AEC and I can Run” and “Why Attend A Family Conference.”
I also made a short video for the NFED for Ectodermal Dysplasia Awareness Month.
and partnered with EatSmart to name the NFED the Charity of the Month.
I have multiple old print articles, as well as a couple VHS tape interviews, dating back to my teens of me speaking out about ectodermal dysplasia.
Of course, I’ve been sighted elsewhere, too…
