I told you yesterday about my experience with Portraits by Portrait Scene. After posting a few of the portraits from my CD to my personal page, Kate of Kate Brockmeyer Photography reached out to me and said she’d love to photograph me and finally get to meet me IRL. Kate and I had chatted several times via Facebook and are both St. Louis area moms. It was obvious that Kate could feel my frustration with the other portraits, and she thought she could capture the kind of portrait I would want. We agreed to meet at Creve Cour Lake. She wanted to meet in the early evening, since it’s the “golden hour” for lighting. Score. She knows about lighting!
I was thrilled to finally meet Kate in person. She always seems so sweet on Facebook. Let me tell you, she’s even sweeter in person. We really enjoyed great conversation and she got some fabulous photos of me…
I love the way the background just melts into the photos. It must have been a true “golden hour” for photos, because there’s no wonky shadows on my head or face, no harsh glare, no off balance coloring. In short, I love them.
So much so, that I am sporting this one as my profile photo on the That Bald Chick Facebook page and on my personal page.
I also have this one on my About Me page and –> over there in the right side bar.
Kate is a talented photographer, and not just because she snapped photos of me and avoided adding the southern hemisphere to my forehead in shadows. Seriously, check out the Kate Brockmeyer Photography Facebook Page for examples of work. She expertly captures photos of baby’s, children, teens (who we all know are not the easiest to photograph), families, pregnancy, and weddings. She even does breastfeeding portraits, which are some of the sweetest photos ever!
Kate occasionally offers special deals and mini sessions, so be on the lookout for those!
The difference in quality between the photos I had done by the other company and that I had done by Kate is amazing.
***Kate did not ask me to write this review, nor did she expect me to. That said, I really think if you’re in the St. Louis area and need portraits done, you should give her a call!***
