As many of you know, my DH and I are in the process of adoption. We are adopting from within my family, and have been in touch with Michelle (birthmother) and Robbie (birthfather) throughout Michelle’s pregnancy.
We got a call at 8:35 a.m. on Valentine’s Day, from Michelle, who said that the contractions were coming pretty fast, so we should start our drive to Michigan.
We loaded up the van, fed Mister some breakfast, and headed out.
Robbie called at 2:14 p.m. (CST) to tell us that the baby was born.
Our daughter, whom we’ll call Sister online, was born on 02/14/09 at 3:10 p.m. EST. She weighed in at 7 pounds 7 ounces and is 18.5 inches long. She has a head full of light brown hair, perfect lips, and long fingers.
Here are a few pictures of our new little one, one by herself, and one of her meeting her big brother. Since I have only my laptop with us, and none of my digital scrap files, I am using a few quick pages that I found to showcase our Special Valentine…

We will be in Michigan for 1-2 weeks, pending court approval to come home.
Thank you all for your prayers, and please continue to pray that the adoption goes smoothly.
