Must have Outdoor Toys for Summer

Share the love!

  • 30

Summer is here and if your kids are anything like my kids, you’ve heard the phrase, “MOM, I’m bored” more than we’d like to admit. It’s important to set our kids up for success during the summer months. Maybe they are bored, which is why stocking up on these must have outdoor toys for summer might be the answer to their boredom woes.

Must have Outdoor Toys for Summer

SeeSaw

Growing up, one of my favorite toys was the SeeSaw and my kids love the seesaw at the playground.  Our kids absolutely loved it, too. By the way… do you call it a see-saw or a teeter-totter?

Is it a SeeSaw or a Teeter Totter?

Tips for buying a see-saw:

  • Make sure it goes up-‘n’-down and spins around! Children never tire of this exhilarating ride that combines seesaw fun with the motion of a carousel.
  • Make sure it’s made from durable weather-resistant metal, it features a three-legged base for stability, and handlebars for a safe ride.
  • Make sure it includes stakes to secure it to the ground!

Nothing beats listening to the squeals of delight that comes from whirling around on a seesaw!

Trampoline

There’s nothing else quite like a trampoline out there. Bouncing on a trampoline can create hours and hours of fun, plus it’s exercise. This is an investment that will also last for many years to come.  I recommend getting a larger one if you have more than one kid. That way there is less worry about injury.

Flying Disc Golf Set

If your kids are looking for a bit of a challenge this summer to help defeat the boredom, perhaps a flying disc golf set is just what they need. This is an awesome game for the summer months because the kids can play by themselves or with their parents. It’s really a family game that everyone can enjoy. It may take a few moments to explain the rules, but once that is done it is all fun from there.

Ogo Sports Fun

Something we’ve discovered in the past is Ogo Sports fun. They literally have the best toys for outdoor fun. There are tons of different toys from Ogo, anything from active play to construction. You choose what your kids will enjoy playing with and go from there!

Swing Set

Who doesn’t love an old-fashioned swing set? If you can get your hands on one, and it’s in the budget, this is the perfect toy for the kids to enjoy over the summer. It’s a great filler activity for the whole clan and a great way for kids to get their exercise.

Swing House

Don’t have room for the whole swing set? Consider the Bolderplay Swing House + 40″ Sky Swing!

Super Parachute

SO many summer games can be played with a super parachute. We got ours years ago from Oriental Trading and our kids still love it.

Obstacle Course

Kids love obstacle courses, and one in their own back yard is sure to have them playing for hours! If you have mature trees capable of holding their weight, consider a Ninja style obstacle course. If not, the ground works, too.

Summer is the time for kids to have fun and enjoy the outdoors. This list of outdoor toys for summer will help make fun a reality!
