As promised, the next item up for review on my “how to keep my kids busy during the summer” list: Moxie Girlz Sunkissed Magic Hair doll. Ok…typically I don’t go for toys that involve painting of any kind, but my middle child, Ms. M, is obsessed with doing people’s hair and creating hair styles that are trendy. I’m not sure where she got that from because the most creative I get with hair is a French braid, but that’s besides the point. She loves it, so when I had the opportunity to get this doll for her, I bit because I knew it’d be right up her alley.

The Sunkissed Magic Hair doll is pretty cool, I have to begrudgingly admit. She comes with all the accessories you’d expect from a doll whose hair is meant to be styled (a brush, hair clips in the shape of hearts and flowers, hair rubber bands), but she also comes with a little tube of color changing gel that is to be applied to doll’s hair. It goes on (with a little applicator that looks like an eye shadow applicator) light blue, however when the doll is put in direct sunlight, the gel changes from light blue to a dark blue-ish purple color. Super cool! Disclaimer: I doesn’t work when held in sunlight streaming through the window…duh…the window blocks UV rays.
Like the Moxie Girlz Creative Me doll from my last post, the gel washes out of the doll’s hair with warm water, and once the hair is dry, it’s able to be colored over and over! Added bonus, the cute little hair clips work in little girl hair, too, making for a very content child with stylish hair!
