Two weeks! Easter is just two weeks away! I’m not very good at dying Easter eggs. I know. I know. It’s one of those things you are supposed to do with your children to create fun family memories, and all that jazz. I’m just not good at it. To start with, I am not good with boiling the eggs. For the last couple of years, I’ve given the kids ceramic eggs to decorate. So I probably haven’t boiled an egg in several years. LOL. I didn’t boil them this year, either. I cheated and baked them in the oven. Ha!
Anyway, you might wonder why I would deviate from the ceramic egg bit and dye real eggs with the kids. I’ll do anything for a good cause. This year, Heinz Vinegar and PAAS have partnered to bring you the Easter Egg Decorator iPad® app (for those who don’t have an iPad, the app can also be accessed online via desktop or laptop computer). Now through March 31, when you decorate and share a virtual Easter egg with family and friends using the free app, Heinz and PAAS will donate $1, up to $25,000, to Make-A-Wish®. Did you know that you can make the Paas Dye colors more vibrant by adding Heinz vinegar?
Say what? I can decorate an egg without getting the dye on my fingers? That’s my kid of app! Here’s the one I made…
How cute is that? You can decorate a virtual egg, too, and help Make-A-Wish at the same time. Simply search “PAAS/Heinz” in the iTunes App Store and download the app, or access it from your desktop or laptop computer at www.heinzpaaseaster.com.
This year PAAS has seven new decorating kits, including Volcano Eggsplosion, which uses melted crayon shavings to provide instant color, and Touch of Velvet, a kit that uses double stick adhesives and flocking powder to create fun, fuzzy shapes on your Easter creations!
I’m sure the Touch of Velvet and the Volcano Eggsplosion decorating kits are awesome. We didn’t make it passed the Deggorating Doodles Kit. I could have skipped the dye in the cups altogether, the just loved the Doodles!
I’d love to see the virtual egg you decorate for Make-A-Wish!
Get some coupons for Paas Easter Kits on Facebook, too!
***Disclosure- I received Paas Easter Kits and Heinz Vinegar to facilitate this post***
I never heard of baking the eggs!!
They turned out great, Anne!
I had no idea it was possible to bake eggs! I learned something new today. 🙂
I did, too! LOL.
I cannot wait to color some eggs. 🙂
How many eggs do you dye, April?
Baking eggs? That sounds much easier, I always overcook them when I boil them
We love coloring eggs.
How many eggs do you dye, Dee? And do you eat them all?
We only do a dozen now…. and YES we eat them all, lol but not all at once!
I love decorating eggs! Since my son is allergic to them though we’ve decided not to make them for the time being :-(.
Michaels craft stores carries ceramic coloring eggs every year, Elizabeth. They usually are sold in a half dozen. Great substitute for dying eggs!
Only two weeks!!! Agh… time has gotten away from me!
Easter is SO early this year!
They are definitely works of art. I love it.
This is always great fun!
That is awesome. I had no idea!!
