Where did my week go?
It seems like just yesterday Hubs and I sat down to watch Mamavation TV, and it is already Monday again.
Okay, yesterday morning we had to be at church by 8 a.m., since Hubs was running sound, so in the rush of things, I forgot to take a picture of the scale. I decided I would just do it this morning, and then of course, when I got up at 5 a.m. to exercise, it escaped my memory, since I hadn’t tanked up on caffeine Crystal Light Energy yet. Doesn’t matter, anyhow, since the blasted number on the scale didn’t change one iota this week. Guess I shouldn’t have moaned about not hitting the “four pounds in one week” mark last week. Ah well.
Today, after we left our volunteer position at the food pantry, we were going to my cousin’s house to drop off a load of clothes for her new baby. And yes, I said load. I boxed up everything Mister has outgrown and passed it along. Anyway, as I was driving, I was dreading the whole “drive through McD’s to get them something to eat so they don’t starve before I get them home” thing, when out of the corner of my eye I saw a sign that read Lo-Cal Café as I passed it.
I quickly found a place to turn in, and turned my van around and went back.
I was pleasantly surprised when the kids and I went in. The café is low key, with small tables that seat four to one side, and a counter with a chalk board menu on the other. In the back was a leather sofa and sitting area. At the counter, I was greeted by Evonne White, owner and operator, of the café. At the time, though, I did not realize that she was the owner of the café.
I quickly ordered a small (as in 7 or 8 inches) whole wheat cheese pizza for the kids to split and a “Watch Your Waist Wrap.” The Watch Your Waist Wrap is a tomato wrap with grilled chicken, avocado, red onions, spinach, cheese, and tzatsiki sauce. I had to ask what the tzatsiki sause was, but as soon as Evonne said “Greek Yogurt” I replied “Nuff said.” The menu listed total calories and fat grams of the wrap, but when I asked, Evonne about the carbs, fiber, and protein content, she happily supplied the requested information and smiled as I typed it into the LoseIt ap (Available on iTunes), via my iPod Touch.
The wrap was OH SO YUMMY.
As in, why don’t my wraps turn out like that yummy!
And the kidlets devoured the pizza.
I asked how long the café had been open, and she said since October, and that they were opening a second location soon. Um, this one should go national, guys, cuz it is that good!
I will definitely be going back, especially since I am over that way on a weekly basis.
The wall at Lo-Cal Café is emblazoned with encouraging sentiments such as… “Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.”

How do you reward yourself after you have worked hard towards a goal? Do you have any pampering rewards thought out for future goals?
As I mentioned in my How Do You Reward Yourself post, I am rewarding myself with jewelry. LOL. I am still undecided which piece I want, so I decide to wait until the 50lb total mark to get it. I am also planning a pedicure, as soon as I find the time and have a sitter. So, I have the 50lb reward in mind. My total weight loss goal is about 75 to 80 pounds, so I will reward myself again at the end. Not sure with what, yet, but it will be a good one!
