Lauren & the Leaky Pail Book Review and Giveaway

As I have mentioned previously, we love books.  So, when I get the opportunity to review books for the kids, I generally jump on it.  And with Halloween just around the corner, I thought a book about the costumed kids of Paddywhack Lane would be a lot of fun.   Paddywhack Lane is a collection of heartwarming, inspirational stories, high quality, role-play toys, gifts and music for young children that parents can feel good about giving to their children.

We received Lauren & The Leaky Pail from Paddywhack Lane, via Tomoson, for review.

Even after her friends offer hilariously, silly solutions to plug the leaks, Lauren remains unflappable in her mission to make sure her seeds have the water they need to grow. Prior to this review, I had never heard of Paddywhack Lane, or the cute little characters that inhabit it.  But, now that I have, I am sure they will become favorites around here.

The book, Lauren & the Leaky Pail, is a heartwarming story about a young girl that refuses to give up on watering her seeds, even though her pail leaks and she just knows she will lose the local gardening contest.  Each day she carries her old leaky pail to and fro, and watches as the other kids seeds start to grow.  Unlike many contemporary story books, the colors of the illustrations are a bit softer and muted.

I wasn’t sure how well the kids would like the softer coloring, as they tend to like the bright bold colors in their other books.

I needn’t have worried.

They loved the story, and wanted to hear all about Lauren again.

I was extremely impressed with the story itself.  I honestly think that Lauren & the Leaky Pail will become a true classic- rivaling even Pooh in Christian literature for children.
