Have you ever looked at a photo and thought, in awe, “I’ve Been There!” That’s how I feel when I see photos of Monumento Divino Salvador del Mundo, which translates, “Monument of the Divine Savior of the World.” This gorgeous statue is in San Salvador, El Salvador, and I’ve been there. I went to El Salvador on several mission trips in 1997/1998. The statue depicts Jesus Christ standing atop the globe, and it’s truly a magnificent sight to behold.
Tourists often visit this monument, which is near to my home, and yes, I’ve been there! The Legend of the Piasa is a local legend where I grew up, near Alton, IL. As legend has it, the legend of the bird like creature dates back to 1673. You can learn more here. I took my MIL/FIL on a Great River Road Tour back in 2005, and the painting on the bluffs is one of the attractions that we visited.
Whether traveling abroad or playing local tour guide, I’m grateful for the places I can say, “I’ve been there” of.
Be blessed!
