Do you like a good prank and/or ten year old bodily humor? Then you’ll love Horrid Henry The Movie
About the plot– When Henry fails (yet again) to turn in his homework for the umpteenth time, he sets off an unexpected and curious chain of events inadvertently. He forms an alliance with with the infuriating Moody Margaret, wins a talent contest, and ultimately stands up to his big time nemesis.
Each antic in this movie is crazier than the last, and Henry ends up trying to save the school that he once hated.
The movie stars the illustrious Anjelica Huston and newcomer, Theo Stevenson, as Horrid Henry and made it’s way exclusively to shelves at Walmart stores in the US on March 12, 2013. The limited edition DVD pack includes a “slime pack” which is touted to be upholstery friendly.
The movie’s run time is just 93 minutes and it is rated PG for some rude humor. The sound track features the ever popular Katy Perry!
What we thought–
I sat down with my 4yo and 5yo to watch Horrid Henry- The Movie for a movie date while Daddy was traveling abroad (he was in Daegu, South Korea for the week).
The movie started off fantastically, with music that was right up Sister’s alley. The tricks and pranks were funny, albeit some of them gross. At one point, Henry picks a boogie and rolls it up on his finger and flicks it. Then, at another point, Henry’s cousin upchucks on a plate of sandwiches and Henry’s Dad later picks one up and takes a bite. I just about puked. My son thought it was outrageously funny!
Horrid Henry- The Movie would make a great family movie night movie for older kids (like 8-10) that understand that the antics on film should not be repeated in real life. LOL.
