It’s hard to believe that my son turned six years old this past weekend, on Saturday!
He didn’t ask for much for his birthday. He asked to go to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings for his birthday, for the Mario Kart game for the Wii or a real Captain America shield (you know, the metal one in the movie), and a rocket shirt.
Buffalo Wild Wings was an easy sell for all of us. We opted for the Mario Kart game for the Wii, as it was easier to procure than a real Captain America shield. The rocket shirt we bought from Gymboree. Of course, he informed me (LAST MINUTE) that he also wanted Captain America cupcakes on his special birthday plate for his birthday. Some quick thinking, a white cake mix, and leftover patriotic sprinkles helped me pull that one off! He helped me make the cupcakes, which was a lot of fun.
When I asked him what his favorite part of his birthday was, he said, “Making my Captain America cupcakes with you. No, eating the cupcakes. No, playing my new Mario Kart game with Daddy. One, two, three, Mom. That’s my favorite THREE things, because I can’t pick just one.”
Next thing I know, he’ll be asking for the car keys!
