GoTrax GKS Electric Scooter

As y’all know, in February we said Yes to the Address and moved to a new home. Our new subdivision has some trails nearby, which have become increasingly important to us (especially given current circumstances). We were delighted, then, when we received an opportunity to review the GoTrax GKS Electric Scooter for kids. Getting my kids to play outdoors is easier than ever!

A review of the GoTrax GKS Electric Scooter

GoTrax GKS Electric Scooter

The GoTrax GKS Electric Scooter is a new electric scooter for kids that features 6 inch solid rubber tires. The tires absorb vibrations to make the scooter glide well on cement or pavement. The GKS electric scooter can go up to 10 mph. It features a 25v.2 Battery and 150 Watt electric motor powers the GKS for up to 7.5 miles per charge.

The assembly of the GKS scooter was super simple, with just installing a few screws and done. From opening the box to them rolling down the hill was less than 15 minutes.

It can be used as both an electric scooter or a kick scooter. It features new Safe Step Technology, which means both feet must be placed on the scooter before the motor will engage. This allows time for your kiddo to position themselves before the motor kicks in. It comes in four different colors, so if you have multiple kiddos, you can get each kiddo a different color to avoid fights over which scooter belongs to which kid. 😉

Rolling around on the GoTrax GKS Scooter

The GoTrax electric scooter for kids is a great choice for kids up to 154lbs.

New Safe Step Technology – Both feet must be placed on the scooter before the motor will engage, giving your child time to position themselves before it the motor kicks in. The durable 6″ wheel are large enough to create a smooth ride on sidewalks and paved areas. This electric scooter for kids only weighs 17.8lbs making it easier to carry and maneuver. Now the whole family can have fun, and remember to always wear a helmet. Available in 5 awesome color combinations

It’s easy to control speed going downhill by simply lifting the foot from the back gravity sensor to slow down. Placing a foot on the rear brake will safely stop the scooter.

This scooter ways under 18lbs, which means it’s easy to maneuver. It’s also easy to carry, should the battery run out mid-ride because your 7yo forgot to plug it in the night before. Eh hem. I mean. There are no external cables to trip over, either.

GoTrax GKS Electric Scooter for Kids

I had no idea when I agreed to review the GoTrax GKS Electric Scooter how much they would be used. We live in an area that has been on “Shelter in Place” orders for well over a month and a half. These kids scooters have become an integral part of our days, as have the nearby trails. We simply plug the scooters in every night, and they are ready to go again the next day. I would definitely recommend the GoTrax GKS Scooter for kids!

We have a 2.5 mile loop that the kids love to go on, because it has an amazing hill that they love to swoop down on their scooters. The site says that these scooters get 4 miles per charge, but I’m pretty certain we’ve gotten more than that. Maybe because they use it as a kick scooter part of the time, as well?

While my review is specifically of the GoTrax GKS Electric Scooter for Kids, GoTrax also manufactures electric scooters for adults, hoverboards, and e-bikes. I seriously want my own scooter or the GoTrax Shift S1 Commuter E-Bike. It folds!
