A few weeks ago, Mister came inside and yelled, “Hey, Mom, we fed the ants!” Wait. Wh… You what? I quickly followed him as he ran back out the back door. Ever since we redid our back patio, my kids LOVE to eat out there. Apparently, they thought it’d be fun to see how many ants would gather on top of a cheese cracker.

Seriously, I think the ants from the neighboring county headed our way! Oh, and if that cheese cracker wasn’t enough… let’s add a potato chip…
I don’t really care if the ants go marching around, as long as they remain outdoors. I don’t step on anthills, nor do I allow my children to. I teach them to respect all critters, great and small, including the pesky little ant, his six legs, and his segmented body. See, as long as the ants stay in their habitat, I’m fine. This little ant experiment, though, happened perilously close to my back door. As I watched those little critters crawl round and round the cheese cracker and the chip, I couldn’t help but think, “You better stay outside.”

We live in a wooded area and have lots of bugs. We use Hot Shot all the time.
Ugh, Ugh, Ugh. I hate bugs and ants make my skin crawl (no pun intended.) I keep Hot Shot on hand, for times that bugs invade my house.
I need to try this. I have horrible bugs inside and outside and nothing’s worked yet.
I’m not a fan of bugs in general, but ants are the worst! When they figure out that they can find food in your house, it’s all over. I’m glad there’s something out there that can obliterate those nasty things.
No kiddos, but my neighbors in the apartment complex I live in are total pigs and leave their garbage in the hallway which of course attracts all the creepy crawly things! 🙁
My son doesn’t bring in bugs, just frogs, lizards, and anything else he can scare me with! I love Hot Shot and just got some for fleas because I adopted a new kitty. The stuff works great!
We’ve been fortunate to not have too bad of an insect problem. So far, anyway.
Hot Shot does work great. My daughter used to bring frogs in the house. I’m scared of frogs, lol
Lol. I love that song. I think I learned it in 1st grade. I completely got rid of a wasp hive today. I think it was Hot Shot
We don’t have that much bugs and I like getting rid of them the all natural way instead of with pesticides. Not a fan of too much chemicals especially with a toddler around.
I just LOATHE bugs, which can be a problem since we live way out in the country. I don’t like to spray much, but sometimes it really is a necessity. I love that photo – the kids really just don’t understand yet, and they often do send out invitations! (For my son, it’s honey on the counter!)
I HATE bugs. Ants are horrible, especially fire ants. Just mowing the lawn can be life threatening for me. If you looked in my garage, you’d think that we own a pesticide company.
We don’t get many bugs in the house. Somehow we just end up with mosquitoes inside that drive me crazy.
ick! Ants are such a pain in the butt. Glad there are products around like this to help, just off my back porch is like a hang out for all ants its gross so we never go down there!

The ants were bad last year. We have to use Hot Shot to get rid of them.
I need this for school! Our classrooms are open during the morning…allowing for natural light and fresh air to circulate. Bugs of all sorts think that this is an open invitation for them as well…we spend many a day chasing some annoying critter out the classroom. Much to the delight of the children!
Luckily we don’t really have an insect problem. But a few weeks ago we had a friend come do some work on our attic. We asked about bugs and stuff, he said we didn’t need to worry but if we wanted to be safe than sorry, he recommended Hotshot!
I keep it around too. I’m not taking any chances with bugs. If they cross the threshold, they’ve signed their life away.
This would have come in handy last year when ants invaded my kitchen – I did not know about Hot Shots, but will keep this product in mind!

I’ve never heard of Hot Shot products before so thanks for the introduction. I love how you teach your children to respect all critters..yes even the critters have a purpose (just not in the house).
I’m lucky we don’t have to deal with ants but its worst we have wasp in the garage door. I need some hotshot for wasps and hornets.

we always have bugs on our deck. I try to keep it chemical free because the dogs lick everything but sometimes you need something strong
I live in the country and I am surrounded by farmers and cornfields. Bugs are a given out here. Sprays only go so far. Boxelder bugs are the worst in the fall and ants really gross me out if I spot them in the house. It makes me feel like I am unclean.
Oh no! Feeding the ants is really cute, but oh, no! I’m glad you were armed with your spray.
Ooohh…..all those ants totally skeeve me out! The only bugs I let stay in the house are spiders since they eat the other bugs.
I need to get some of this for my brick out back. I get ant hills in the cracks that drive me batty.

Every spring we get those tiny little ants in our bathroom. I need this to make them GO AWAY!
OMGosh your pictures are giving me the creepy-crawly’s!! I do need some of this though, we get ants if we are not VERY careful about not dropping crumbs. We need to sweep the kitchen floor after EVERY meal!

OMG…I would’ve freaked out so hard. I hate when ants gather like that. It makes me itch. I have to keep spray on hand, because one year they tried to take over our kitchen.
That’s cool! We have too many ants from time to time especially before the rainy days. That will help getting rid of those unwanted ants on my pantry.

We have noticed a increase in ants this year. I agree i don’t mind them as long as they stay outside. I will be picking up some of this for the weekend.
