My husband’s Grandma Hig recently celebrated her 90th birthday. We took advantage of the opportunity to grab a 4 generations photo. Pictured are Grandma Hig, Richard Higgins (my hubby’s Dad), Hubs, and Mister (my boy).
This woman makes the best fried chicken, evah, and she absolutely loves her family.
Funnily, she’s the reason Hubs and I have two wedding dates (January 2006 and December 2006). We were planning a Christmas wedding when Grandma Hig got sick with pneumonia. My FIL was concerned that Grandma might not make it to the December wedding. So, Hubs and I threw together a simple ceremony at my Mom’s church and got married in January. Grandma Hig was the only grandparent either of us had left, so it was important to us that she be there. Then she surprised us all and hung around to dance with Hubs at our Christmas themed reception in December.
