Special thanks to EnviroKlenz for making this post possible. All opinions are my own.
Let’s face it, laundry stinks! Normally, I would say that would be a figurative statement from me, but this summer I mean it literally. My kids clothes reek like a locker room after they’ve played outdoors all day. When EnviroKlenz challenged me to get the stink out with EnviroKlenz Laundry Enhancer, I was definitely game to try it!
First, let me say that my kids have a laundry basket in each of their bedrooms, so the girls laundry is always combined and my sons laundry is by itself. No matter, both baskets of laundry are odoriferous! I lugged their laundry to the laundry room and grabbed the directions for the EnviroKlenz Laundry Enhancer.
Now, typically I throw a bunch of clothes in the wash, dump some detergent in, and then pull the button for the water to fill. The instructions said to partially fill the wash tub with water, add detergent, and then add 1/4 cup (small load) or 1/2 cup (large load) of the EviroKlenz Laundry Enhancer and to add clothing last as the water continues to fill. It also says NOT to use in combination with bleach or vinegar.
My son’s socks are spectacularly offensive to the nostrils, so I tossed all of them into one load with the other clothes thinking the bottle of EnviroKlenze Laundry would be worth it’s weight in gold if it got the stink out. I was pleasantly surprised that his socks came out of the wash smelling like… cotton. Okay, so the laundry enhancer passed the sock test. Could it pass the sweaty sheet test? My husband sweats a lot in his sleep. Blech. So, I grabbed the linens off the bed and tossed them in the wash with the laundry enhancer. Guess what! They came out smelling like… cotton.

I did learn one lesson the hard way, and that was to not overfill the washer. I have a bad habit (really bad habit) of stuffing more into a load than I probably should. You really can’t do that with the EnviroKlenz Laundry Enhancer because it has to be able to move freely in the washer. It’s also best when used in warm water, which is a bit of change for me because I wash everything on cold. I’m willing to move the dial, tho, if it means no more stinky socks!
