Thursday evening was unseasonably cool. With a big day ahead for Friday (Mister was scheduled for his peanut food challenge test), I couldn’t think of a better way to relax with the kids than to build a fire, roast some marshmallows, and enjoy some S’mores.
We Hubs used Duraflame® Campfire Roasting Logs to build our fire in the fire pit.
The Duraflame® Campfire Roasting Logs are the first fire logs formulated with charcoal and tested for safe cooking. This new formula makes the logs ideal for marshmallow and weiner roasting over an open fire. Just stack them up and burn them like wood, creating a robust fire that has hot growing coals ideal for cooking campfire foods.
The Duraflame® Campfire Roasting Logs are available in 4-piece bundles (sufficient for one campfire) or in a case of 6 bundles (sufficient for 4-6 campfires). Logs are wrapped individually for easy, no-hassle handling and easy lighting. They are compact and will transport easily, and store nicely in your camping gear. They are made from 100% renewable resources, including wood charcoal.
It was a little bit windy out… okay, a lot a bit windy out, so the roasting logs needed a little bit of love (i.e. Virginia holding up a large piece of plastic to block the wind) before they yielded a glorious fire. The fire was PERFECT for making marshmallow and chocolate goo, not to mention family memories.
This was our first experience with Duraflame® products at all, but it certainly won’t be the last. We’ve already added a 4-piece bundle to our camping gear. We like the fact that one-4-piece bundle is equivalent to burning 24 pounds of firewood and can provide a nice burn that is enough for campfire merrymaking and memories. Five pounds is certainly a more portable option for camping trips than 24 pounds. Don’t you think?
Duraflame® Campfire Roasting Logs are available at select Walmart, Kmart and Kroger stores nationally, as well as retailers throughout the U.S. The suggested retail price for a four-log bundle is $5.99. The six-bundle case sells for around $29.99.

I wish that we were allowed to have fire pits! 🙁
I love Duraflame. We used them all the time when we lived in Colorado.
We don’t have a firepit or a fireplace now that we live in Florida though 🙁
I’ve been wanting a fire pit for my yard.
So much fun! Nothing like roasting over an open fire.
