Last year we restructured our morning time for school. Prior to that, we had been doing a short daily devotional together to start our day, and we prayed together. After reading Do Your Children Believe, we added worship to our morning schedule. We also added a daily affirmation for kids.
Daily Affirmation for Kids
After our morning worship, we move into our morning basket time before doing our lesson. Our morning basket time, or morning menu time, includes the memory verse we’re working on, our pledges (we pledge to the Bible first, then to the flag), and our daily affirmation for kids.
The affirmation is biblically based and Charlotte Mason ish. It says:
I am a new creation because of my faith in Christ.
My life has value because God created me.
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
God has given me the abilities to obey His word.
I ought to use those abilities to obey God and to serve others.
I will do my best to guard my thoughts and words and choose to do the right thing even when it is not what I want.
I thought I’d share a copy of the daily affirmation for kids with hearts with you, because reciting this daily really does make a difference in esteem and attitude. To download your copy, simply click on the Daily Affirmation for Kids link or on the image below.
It’s also helpful, when poor behavior or attitude pops up, because I can ask “are you choosing to do the right thing?” or “are you guarding your thoughts and words?”
I do update the clipart on the kids daily affirmation every few weeks to correspond to the current unit study, which the kids really seem to like.
I love using positive affirmations to build esteem for my kids. The coloring books from Hopscotch Girls and Bright Start Boys are a big hit.

I’ve even shared the daily affirmation for kids in our women’s Bible study group and church, and have given copies to friends. Even as adults, we need to remind ourselves, from time to time, of who we are and Whose we are.
While your here, be sure to check out my other printable items, including a personal planner, a habit tracker, and a devotional titled Nourishing a Woman’s Soul. I hope you’ll be blessed by them!
