College Prep Science

If you read my Homeschooling Middle School post, you know I have an 11 year old who is also science minded. He’s an advanced student, which is both challenging and fun. He’ll be doing several science classes in our homeschool co-op this year, and is super excited about it. His current goal is to be an engineer, so I am always conscience of where we’ll need to go next with his homeschool science curriculum. He is only 11, but because of his aspirations and giftedness, high school science is in view and exploring college prep science is important.

I was compensated for my time writing this post. All opinions are my own.

I love science. When I was in the eighth grade, our science class dissected a cow eye. Mine had a perfect cornea. Our teacher planned to do a cow heart dissection next, but the rest of the class cringed at the very idea. I eagerly asked if I could take it home to dissect for extra credit. I absolutely loved that class, as well as my high school biology classes.

Science has always been one of my favorite subjects, so I want my kids to enjoy science. Whether your family does homeschool science at home, online, or you join a local homeschool co-op, science curricula and opportunities to explore science abound. When it comes to science, you have to find what works best for your child and the season you’re in. Outsourcing homeschool science may be an excellent option for you.

College Prep Science

I recently discovered an online science curriculum worth exploring further. College Prep Science offers live, Christ-centered online science classes for 6-12th grade that could change the way your family looks at science courses.

I think it’s important to choose a homeschool science classes that your kids will enjoy. I mean, if you’re going to be learning, you might as well be having fun.

College Prep Science offers both “Life Prep” classes and College Prep classes. The Life Prep classes are geared toward students who are not going to be science majors in college or are not planning on going to college. The “college prep” classes are designed to prepare students for college level classes. They also offer “pre” classes (Pre-Biology, Pre-Anatomy & Physiology, Pre-Chemistry, and Pre-Physics) that are designed to prepare middle school students for high school classes.

The Creator of College Prep Science

I enjoyed reading about the creator’s experience. Greg Landry is a husband, a homeschool dad, and a former college professor. He and his wife homeschooled their two daughters. He has a passion for teaching students to see God’s hand in every aspect of His creation. He teaches all of his classes from a Christ-centered, creationist world view.

Why You Should Consider Online Science

As busy homeschooling moms, our attention can be pulled in so many directions. Especially if you have children in multiple levels or learning abilities. When that is the case, outsourcing science for your older students may be a great alternative to teaching everything yourself. Since College Prep Science classes are online, all you need is internet access. Landry’s courses fit a wide range of needs when you are a homeschooling family and are considering outsourcing homeschool science.

Not only does Landry offer the online science classes, he also offers Homeschool Science Biology & Chemistry Two Day Lab Intensives  in 15 locations nationwide. He also offers Online bootcamps for ACT prep and CLEP Biology prep.

Landry also offers Science Freebies for Homeschool Moms (and Dads), including list of 14 mistakes to avoid with homeschool science. He’ll also send you an email weekly with additional freebies, updates on classes and labs, science teaching tips, free science graphic organizers, free science subject teaching guides, and a couple of surprise freebies.
