Recently, while chatting with a friend, I mentioned that I was thinking of refreshing the look of our bedroom. She smiled and said that she’d read an article years ago that said the master bedroom should have romantic artwork in it. I hadn’t thought about it before, but it makes sense. When you share a room with your spouse, you want it to be a romantic oasis of sorts. You want it to be a place that you enjoy being with them. So, how does one go about choosing romantic artwork for your bedroom, you might ask?

You may think that choosing romantic artwork for your bedroom is hard work. It doesn’t have to be! Here are some tips for choosing romantic artwork for your bedroom.
Couples
Artwork that features a couple lends to romance. Whether the couple is walking hand in hand, dancing, or embracing, images of couples evoke romantic feelings.
Avoid Abstract
Yes, when you’re choosing romantic artwork for your romantic artwork for your bedroom, abstract art may not be the best choice. Why? Well, abstract art is created by using various shapes, forms, and colors. In essence, it may not give off the most romantic vibe. Abstract art has its place in the world, but it’s not in a romantic bedroom setting.
Harsh Lines
Ah, something you should avoid whenever you’re choosing romantic artwork for your bedroom is harsh lines. Harsh lines can actually take away from the vibe of the room. Sort of like you should avoid harsh lines on your clothes, you should also avoid them on your walls when you’re trying to go with a romantic theme.

Most people recognize the colors of love as red and pink, but you can choose whatever colors you feel best represents the love you have with your spouse. The right colors in a room can really help tie together. We chose Night Fantasy by Leonid Afremov for our bedroom. Our bedroom walls are a light shade of grey, and I am NOT tackling painting them right now. I wanted something that would compliment the grey well, and I liked the wide range of colors used in the image. I can pull out the warmer tones in spring and summer, and the cooler tones in fall and winter.

The Right Size
Size is important, when you’re choosing artwork for your bedroom. You don’t want to choose something too big or too small, so choose the right size. You’ll want the artwork to fit in with the dynamic of the rest of the room.
Set the Mood with the Lighting
