A few years ago, some friends gave us a cute surfboard decoration that I’ve had on the back of the over-the-toilet shelf forever.  The shelf was old and rickety, so we recently disposed of it.  Which meant I needed a new spot for the surf board.  I asked Hubs to hang it above their tub.  I think it’s cute up there.  After getting rid of the rickety shelf, I hung white cube shelves on the wall over the toilet and added some seashells and beach themed artwork.

The wall across from the toilet looked a little forlorn, with only a pencil drawing of whales (by my mother-in-law) on it.

It needed something new.  Something bigger. When I received an opportunity to review the Island Beach Design from WallPops, I knew it would be perfect for the bathroom. I double checked that it would be okay in a high humidity room, since my son loves to steam it up with his showers, and we set to work.

I love it. This photo panel is easy to peel and stick and is always able to be repositioned or removed if you change your mind and want to try something new. I really liked the fact that there was no sticky residue left behind because what a hassle that would be. To apply this photo panel to your wall is quick and easy, maybe even effortless would be the correct word. We used a silicone spatula (the kind you use in baking) to apply it smoothly without any air bubbles. The size is perfect at 34” by 39”.  It’s really perfect for a wall mural and at a fraction of the cost!

After we had the WallPops! Island Beach Design installed, Hubs framed it in with trim that we picked up at the local home improvement store. The whole project took less than two hours, and most of that was just waiting for the paint to dry on the trim.

It feels like your own little paradise with this Island scene on the bathroom wall. It is so much more fun than the large blank white wall was.  Now I just need to make (or find) a “I’d rather be surfing” sign to go on that wall. Maybe a little curtain over the top?

Wall Pops has everything that you could imagine to make a space more your own. They even have kids designs. If you have never used one of these peel and stick designs before, they are rather simple. Make sure that your space where you want to hang the design is clean and dry for starters. Smooth out the decal on the wall with something like a credit card. For the best results make sure that you smooth from center outward. If you are not happy with the positioning once it is up, this is no problem. All you have to do is simply slowly peel away the Wall Pop and stick it to a new spot. Who would have known that adding a little color and art to your home could be so simple?
