I saw this quote, “Be such a man, my son, and live such a life, that if every man were such as you, and every life such as yours this earth would be God’s Paradise!” and had to use it to do a scrapbook page of my husband kissing our son shortly after he was born. This photo makes my heart swell.
If you look closely, you can see the skin erosions on Mister’s shoulder, which are a characteristic of AEC syndrome. When he was born, he had skin erosions across his shoulders, down his spine, and across his hips… in the shape of the letter “I” almost.
Since I was working with his hospital photos, I decided to do a few more scrapbook pages. This one is me kissing him.
See how his right eye is closed in the top one here? He had bands of skin holding his eyelids together. He had to have them lysed when he was a week old.
Oh my heart.
This last one is his first bath at home, after we came home from the hospital. We were in the hospital for four days. Partly because I had an unexpected C-section, and partly because Mister was in the special care unit.
I can’t wait to have these printed and add to our album.
