My children are fair-skinned. And by fair-skinned I mean p-a-l-e. It’s no joke, which means that any outdoor time is a serious issue around here because they will burn to a crisp in two seconds. Ok, maybe not two seconds, but you know what I mean.
Because of this unfortunate situation, I am always looking for good sunscreens that will protect my kids’ skin from the sun’s harmful rays, while protecting their beautiful porcelain skin! Extra points if it’s a product that is without harmful chemicals that I am sure leach into their skin and do who knows what kind of damage. I believe I’ve mentioned before that I have become a bit of a freak about natural alternatives to the products that we use because I really want my children to be as healthy as possible. It’s even spread over into our eating (we are eating clean), which I swore I never would buy into, but we can talk about that more later. Back to the issue at hand.
Cue babyganics. If you recall, I previously reviewed babyganics diapers on my youngest, Ms. A, and LOVED them! Specifically, I love that all of babyganics products are natural and free of harmful chemicals. Their sunscreen for children is no different: babyganics spf 50 (and all their other sun products) are mineral-based UVA + UVB protectants, water resistant, non-allergenic, and free of PABA, phthalates, paragons, fragrances, and nano-particles. MAJOR extra points for this product!
So, long story short, I tried the spf 50 on Ms. A for a long morning at the park (to tire her out because I really wanted her to take a good nap…eh-hem). It worked perfectly! It’s consistency was great, I didn’t feel as though it left her skin feeling greasy or sticky, and its smell was pleasant! More than that, however, it worked like a charm! No burn on her sensitive skin! Since then I’ve also tried this product on my older girls for field trips or days spent outside now that it’s warmer, and have continued to see perfect results! I give this product an A+!
Babyganics’ Mineral-Based Sunscreen lotion (50+SPF) retails for $9.99 and is available for purchase at Babies ‘R’ Us, Buy Buy Baby, Target, and online at Diapers.com.

That’s a great price, so I would definitely give this a try!
That is great it doesn’t have all those chemicals. Decent price also.
Perfect timing! I am due in July and my toddler could use some of this right now! Thanks for the review!
My kiddos are ghostly white too. There is not a drop of melantonin in their skin, I swear. lol So, products like babyganics sunscreen are really appreciated in my house. Thanks for the heads up!
I swear…I keep thinking that someday- SOMEDAY- they will get some color, but nothing so far lol! I love their beautiful skin, but holy cow it makes me nervous to play out in the hot sun! I hope you like this product too!
We LOVE babyganics!!! It’s the best sunscreen for baby and the whole family!
I’m pretty pale, too, and I am always calling the kids in for more sunblock! I think this sounds like a great product, as I’ve been pretty concerned about the stuff they put in other sunblocks.
Yeah…I get way paranoid about chemical content, especially with things that go on their skin, so this is great! Who wants to feel stressed, wondering if the product they are using to prevent cancer is going to cause cancer?! Yikes!
I remember when my kids were small and there were so few, if any, chemical-free sunscreen products on the market for young children. I am so glad to hear that items such as this one are available for parents now.
Such cute packaging! We are in the sun all the time, so we stock up on sunscreen – this looks like a great one.
Thanks so much for sharing this! I feel like we try a new sunscreen every few weeks in the summer and haven’t found the perfect one yet. Sounds like this could be a very promising option! 🙂
Little ones have such sensitive skin. Good to know that was protective and also non-irritating.
I buy a lot of mineral based skincare products and cosmetics. I think it’s super important for little ones.
I LOVE Babyganics everything. I especially love the laundry detergent.
This sounds great, I will have to pick some up for my baby, I am so reluctant with some of the brands on the market with all the harmful chemicals.
Me too! And so far I really love this product!
I wish that had been around when my kids were little. Living in Southern California, we always put sunscreen on them but was nervous about all the chemicals. This sounds perfect.
I wish I had this when my kids were little! I knew they had to use sunscreen, but I didn’t like having to put so many chemicals on them. This would have been great. I will have to tell my friends with young kids about it!
I love babyganics I buy it all the time at walgreens and it’s one of my fav brands!
I believe this is the same sunscreen we used on my daughter when she was an infant! I think the packaging just has a new look. I swore by babyganics when my daughter was a baby!
I would try this. My kids are also blessed with beyond pale skin. I have to be extra vigilant about protecting them from the sun.
Definitely try! My girls will be slathered in it for Memorial Day outdoor fun tomorrow!
Great post. Glad to see there great sunscreens out there for kids (that work!).
