AvaStars for Tweens and Teens

Share the love!

As many of you may have read in her AvaStars- Let Your Star Shine post a few weeks ago,  Virginia took her kids and friends to the AvaStars Kiosk at the St. Louis Galleria Mall for an unforgettable experience.  I thought this was a fabulous idea and decided to give this to my kids for Christmas.  My son is 14 and my daughter is 11 so I thought I’d share with you how the experience works for older kids.

When they opened their boxes Christmas morning, and saw the VIP pass, they were puzzled until I explained it to them how this experience works. It was actually quite funny, my son sat on the couch and said,  “Mom now you’re going to make me have to figure out what I want to be in life. ” Ha ha!!  I set up their appointments on the Ava Star website and it sent me a reminder text to let me know that my appointment was the next day, and then another reminder text the day of the appointment, which was a huge help. It also let me know that there was no waiting when I arrive.

When we got to the AvaStarShip at the St. Louis Galleria Mall my son, who is 14, was a little nervous that he would be too old for this experience. When we arrived, though, there were several adults doing the same experience. And he said to me “okay now I don’t feel too old.”

The experience does not take very long at all. My kids have played their videos for their friends and themselves several times. I have to say that my opinion is that the older the child is, the more their doll/action figure will look like them.  My sons video of himself was really quite a stunning resemblance, and his action figure looks just like him. When he opened his action figure, my husband said, “I want an action figure of myself.” Again I am just cracking up.

In my daughters video you had to look a little harder to see her, but I was able to find her. My daughters doll made her so happy, because it looked like her more than the video.

I would have to say as we get older as adults, it is much harder to find that perfect gift for one another. I think the AvaStars experience would make the perfect gift for any one you are having a hard time figuring out the perfect gift for. This gift is fun and shareable. I was able to send the videos and photos to all my friends and family and they just loved them.
