I grew up near Alton, Illinois. I love the historic landmarks there. Some of my favorites include the Elijay P. Lovejoy Monument, the Robert Wadlow Memorial Statue, the Clark Bridge, the Piasa Bird, the Melvin Price Locks and Dam, and the Lincoln Douglas Square.
If you ever travel through the area, you should plan at least a day to see the town!
