The last time I checked in with you on my Advocare 24 Day Challenge was before Thanksgiving. When I said I was fairly certain I’d be able to make it through turkey day without gobbling too much, I had NO idea I’d be sick the whole holiday! We actually went to Kansas City on Wednesdsay to spend the holiday with Hubs parents and sister. I’d started having some post nasal drainage on Tuesday evening, but honestly thought it was a result of the on again off again cold weather and allergies. I realized about halfway between Columbia and Kansas City that I was indeed, getting sick. When we got there, my Father-in-law informed us that he and my Mother-in-law were also sick. Whatever viral illness it was, it swept through my family like wildfire, and I spent Wednesday through Sunday feeling like I was once again working the med-surg unit during flu season, alternating Ibuprofen and Tylenol for everyone… including myself.
So you see, it wasn’t all that hard to stick to my guns and not gobble too much for turkey day. Here’s what my dinner plate looked like…
After nearly five days in the infirmary, we drove home yesterday, all still feeling pretty miserable. The kids and I are still under the weather today, so I’m not my perky self in my Day 23 photos for this check in.
My measurements are…
I’ve lost 8.1 pounds and 12.75 inches since I started the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. Not bad considering I literally haven’t worked out in two weeks. I could have gone back to the gym on the 21st, but my left foot cracked open, and it was hard to walk, let alone work out or run.
My foot is finally starting to heal, and I’d planned to leave the kids with Hubs and the in laws and run while in KC… those plans were thwarted by this upper respiratory virus. I can only pray it vacates soon, because I have a 15K in 13 days that I am now completely unready for! After doing 10K four weekends in a row, I thought I’d be more than ready for 15K, but I don’t think I could run a mile right now if hungry zombies were chasing me, especially since I feel like a zombie myself!
I’ll post my final results on the challenge, and hopefully be feeling better, in a few days! If I don’t get out and run soon, I just may go loco!

Very important to take care with food and exercise, if you feel good, you look good.

Wow that foot looks painful! You will get back on track soon. I had a lot of family members sick during Thanksgiving as well.
