My intention was to post an update on my Advocare 24 Day Challenge on Day 10. Tuesdays are our busy days, though, with homeschool co-op during the day and then the kids have AWANA in the evening. So, that didn’t happen. Anyway! I’m here now, and that’s what matters, right? When I checked in on Day 5, I had lost 1.5 pounds and 3 inches. Today is day 11 and here is my check in photos…
And my measurements today are…
In total, I’ve lost 2.5 pounds and 6 inches so far on the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. That’s half an inch from each upper arm, 1.25 inches from my waist, 1.25 inches from my hips, an inch from each thigh, and half an inch from my right calf– which is habitually larger than my left calf. My left calf will likely be smaller next week. LOL. My body fat percentage has gone from 37.1 to 34.9, and body muscle percentage has gone from 34.9 to 35.3. I have 13 days left on the challenge and remain excited about it. The difference is easier for me to see when I look at the photos side by side. My muffin top is shrinking. YAY!
Several people have asked me if I had any “issues” with the cleanse part of the program. In all honesty, I didn’t have any bloating, cramping, or uncomfortably quick trips to the loo and I imagine the fact that I was already eating fairly healthy was helpful. Since the Advocare 24 Day Challenge isn’t a fad diet that eliminates entire food groups, it was relatively easy to follow the recommended guidelines. The food suggestions promote a well-balanced diet of lean proteins, vegetables, complex carbohydrates and other snack items such as healthy fats, fruits, dairy, and AdvoCare products. I continued to count calories while on the challenge, and was able to easily maintain my desired calorie budget.
My biggest challenge right now is twofold. First, my toddler was suspended from the child care area at the gym for a week, so I haven’t taken my body pump class this week or been able to hit the treadmill. I’ve used the elliptical at home a few times, but the heel of my right foot has cracked open (courtesy of my skin disorder) and even that has been slow going. Not being able to work out like I want means that I have less leeway with my desired calorie budget, and that is frustrating for me.
I’ll check in again in a few days to let you know how things are going!
