You might recall from my A Baptism a Super Heroes Backpack Bible post that we gave Mister the Super Heroes Backpack Bible for his baptism. He is still thoroughly enjoying his Bible. We also recently gave Little Miss the Adventure Bible for Toddlers. In doing so, we created a problem we didn’t expect. Sister decided that she wanted a new Bible, too. She pled her case that Big Brother AND Little Sister both got new Bible’s, it would only be fair if she got a new Bible, too. Since her Bible was falling apart, I agreed to review the Adventure Bible, NKJV from Zondervan.
The Adventure Bible, NKJV is a full-color Bible that is designed to take kids on a fun and exciting journey through God’s Word. It features include sections called “Life in Bible Times” which are articles and illustrations that describe what life was like in ancient days;. It also has “People in Bible Times” biographies that take a closer look at amazing people of the Bible. The “Did You Know?” sections give interesting facts designed to help you better understand God’s Word. The “Let’s Live It!” sections have hands-on activities to help kids apply biblical truths to their life. Finally, the “Words to Treasure” sections highlight great verses to memorize. There’s also a concordance, book introductions for basic facts about each book of the Bible, 20 special pages with Bible facts and fun, and 8 pages of color maps. All of that and it has a fun jungle safari theme.
Sister is thrilled with her new Adventure Bible, NKJV. She loves the illustrations and maps, and the jungle theme. In retrospect, I should have gotten her an NIV or NIRV version, because the NKJV is a little grown up for her. She told me, though, that next she wants a “votional to go with her Adventure Bible.” I love that my kids enjoy their devotionals and learning from God’s word!
You can purchase both the Avdventure Bible, NKJV on Zondervan and from Barnes & Noble, as well as on Amazon.
