One of the most important things that a woman carries is her purse. There are purses for every occasion and stage in life. However, regardless of the type of purse you carry, there are a few essentials that every woman should have. Here are 10 things you should always keep in your purse…
Makeup Bag and Mirror
A woman always needs to look her best, even when on the go. Packing a makeup bag with a few essentials like lip balm or lipstick, concealer, powder foundation, and a mirror will keep you looking your absolute best at all times. While I don’t wear makeup, I doo keep lip balm and a compact mirror safely tucked into my makeup bag.
Hand Sanitizer
I have three kids, need I say more? There are many times when you are not able to wash your hands, but really need to. Keep a small bottle of hand sanitizer in your purse for these occasions.
Extra Cash
Whether you have to pay a parking meter, an unexpected toll, or the restaurant you are grabbing lunch at doesn’t take credit cards, you will be glad to have a stash of extra cash tucked away in your purse.

Pen
It happens all the time. You need to write something down, but you don’t have a pen. Be sure to throw an extra pen or two in your purse so you will have one when you need one.
First Aid Supplies
Minor cuts and scrapes are bound to happen. By keeping a few basic first aid supplies in your purse, like wound cleaning wipes, antibiotic ointment, and Band-Aids, you will be prepared to take care of them quickly. Perhaps because my son had a peanut allergy for over three years (he was healed from his peanut allergy two years ago), I also always keep rapid release diphenhydramine in my purse!
A woman’s purse is essential to life on the go, but making sure you have the right things in the purse will help you be prepared for any situation that might arise.

I need a bigger purse! If I had room, I’d also keep a granola bar or almonds on hand. Never know when the blood sugar will drop or you get the munchies 🙂
Great post! Thr subject reminds me of a baby shower that I attended for a young lady that was pregnant eith her second child at eighteen years old. We played a game similar to a scavenger hunt. Each person had to see how many items on a list were actually in her purse. Ironically, one of the hunted items wae a condom . The only lady in the room with one in her ourse was the pregnant girl, oh my.
Anyway, great list. Just yesterday I realized that I need to place a bottle in my vehicle as I needed to wash my hands and had nothing on hand. Just then, I realized that I never replaced my mini bottle of hand sanitizer from my purse. Thanks for the reminder!

Great list! I also keep Immodium, Lactaid and Dramamine in purse for various family members who occasionally have, eh-emmm….problems.

I never have cash on me! I should always keep a few bucks handy, but it’s always the first thing to go.
Great List, I’m bad about keeping cash in my purse because i use plastic for everything but my grandmother used to always yell at me about it saying incase of an emergency I needed to keep at least a few dollars in there.
Definitely on the first aid supplies, especially if you are a mom. I don’t know how many times I have been out and my daughter is like “I need a bandaid”. Wha!

I always have chapstick and my wallet in my purse. Those are constant. Other things come and go.
I keep all of these items (except gum) in my purse. I also keep nutrition bars on hand. I can’t chew gum, otherwise that would also be in there!

I always keep tissues, gum, rewards cards and a backup charger for my smartphone. Keeping actual cash in there is tough though 😉
Smartphone because I MUST have my music with me everywhere I go, Gum or my favorite candy icebreakers sours, headphones, red lipstick, hand sanitizer, lotion, a soft tote bag because I always end up needing one most days, a pack of tissues! 🙂

Mine always has a pen and paper, hand sanitizer, my business cards, and a spare diaper. Yes, it’s obvious I’m a mom!!

I have all that and more in my purse well except for Glee Gum as I have not seen that brand I have a different one,also as I was just saying on another post I always end up with my two younger kids toys in my purse lol.

I have hand sanitizer in my purse. But it looks I need to add a few things to my purse.
My must have’s are chapstick, a compact, contact lens drops and my debit card. I’m totally guilty of never having cash.

We can never leave the house without extra hair ties. We have a mess of naturally curly hair that has a habit of getting in the way at the worst times.
Wet wipes and tissues are my top two.
All good ones. I wish I took your advice on tissues more often. I know they should be in there and get caught without them more times than I care to admit. I keep a little first aid kit in there always!! That comes in handy with the little guy a lot, and sometimes it comes in handy for us big folks too.
I don’t really have any must haves. I have been known to leave my wallet at home by accident, so I guess I could see that as a must have. 🙂

Love this! I don’t carry much in my purse… Gum, lip glosses and thats about it. I will jot some of these down for sure…Hair ties and a pen is a must duh me!

I always have to have my phone in my purse. I can’t leave home without it.
Extra baby wipes, diapers, and snacks are a must too! I rarely have gum in mine these days because I dont let my kids chew it.
I have two top things. They are my foldable hairbrush/mirror and my lipstick.

Nice list. I have some of that, but have cut down what I keep in my purse. Then I need something and its missing.
I’m trying to minimize what I keep in my purse since it gets so heavy and I really don’t need most of the stuff anyway. But I guess it’s good to always be prepared, just in case!

I see that one of the items on your list is a pen. I usually carry at least two of them because if I only have one, you can be sure I won’t be able to find it. Your list is pretty thorough but I was really intrigued with the Glee Gum I had no idea. Now you’ve got me curious and I will have to find it and give it a try.
