I have a friend that was raised Amish, and although he left the Amish community at a young age, he still has close relationships with his family. After visiting his sister’s home in Illinois, I developed a new appreciation for the lifestyle and determined faith of the Amish community.
I recently joined LitFuse, and when I received an invitation to review Suzanne Woods Fisher’s newest novel, The Waiting, I couldn’t resist. I enjoy a good fiction novel, and have always loved Amish fiction.
Suzanne Woods Fisher is thrilled to announce the release of The Waiting, book two in The Lancaster Secrets Collection. In The Waiting Jorie finds herself caught be two loves and two lives in this compelling page turner about complex people living the simple life.
While The Waiting is the second novel in the Lancaster Secrets Collection, I found that it isn’t necessary to have read The Choice, which is the first book. The heroine of The Waiting is Jorie King. She has been waiting for her beloved, Benjamin, to return home from war, only to learn that he has been killed. She turns to his brother, Caleb, for comfort. Their friendship blossoms into love. A few more twists and turns have you really liking these characters by story’s end. I won’t give away the ending, but promise you, this is light, warm, and comforting tale. A must read!
Disclosure- I received a free copy of The Waiting to facilitate my review and participation in this blog tour. No other compensation was received. All opinions expressed are my own and are based on my own experience. Your experience may differ.
