As many of you know, I recently had Sister’s birthday party. For her party, I chose a ladybug theme. I found the cutest Ladybug Cupcake recipe in Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes book, also on MarthaStewart.com
So, I went to Michael’s to get my supplies. While there, I inadvertently learned that Marzipan, which is what the ladybugs in Martha’s recipe are made of, is made from Almonds. Since Mister has a nut allergy, I knew I had to come up with a different way to make my ladybugs.
Anyway, while at Michael’s, I picked up my Wilton decorator tip # 233, which is what is required to make the spiky grass. I also picked up these decorating essentials…
Nope, still had to figure out how to make my ladybugs. So, I spent HOURS web-crawling, and finally decided to make cookie balls and dip them in Wilton’s red candy melts.
So, it was back to Michael’s!
Ah, finally, I was able to make cupcakes.
