Watson’s Base Layer

Hubs went to Daegu, South Korea again last week for work.  He knew that he’d be working outdoors at some points, so he would have to dress in layers to stay warm.  Fortunately for him, we had a base layer from Watson’s Bodywear for him to take along.

Watson’s is a Canada based company, and they know a little bit about how harsh cold weather can be… after all, Canada is listed in the top ten of coldest countries in the world! Anyway, Hubs has the Performance Long Sleeve Top and the Performance Long John from Watson’s, which made ME feel so much better about him working out in the elements.

Watson's Base Layer 2

The Performance base layers are made of 85% micro polyester and 15% spandex.  They are designed to wick away moisture (from sweating) and they have been given an antimicrobial treatment to control the growth of bacteria and prevent odor. The spandex allows them to stretch in whatever direction they need to and remain comfortable.  The seams are all intact and the stitching is nice.  Best of all, I was pleased with the easy care instructions of these garments.  Wash cold, tumble dry low.  YAY!  I love easy care clothing!

Hubs packed three sets of thermal underclothing to take with him to Korea.  One was cotton, one was a nylon blend, and the third was the Watson’s base layer.  Hubs said that the day he wore the Watson’s base layer, it was about 25 degrees outside with a light breeze.  He said that the Watson’s base layer kept him warm and dry, that they stayed put (no creeping like some other thermals) and that they were comfortable to wear.  I love knowing that Hubs has quality clothing to keep him comfortable when working in the elements.  Especially considering he is a bit averse to wearing a coat while working outdoors because of the bulk.  He also said that of the three types of thermal undergarments he packed, that he liked the Watson’s base layer the best and that he wants to get some more of them for future trips.

Watson’s also carries a traditional waffle material thermal, a hypoallergenic bamboo thermal, and a double layer thermal.  Learn more about Watson’s products by checking out their site at http://www.mywatsons.ca/home, liking Watson’s Bodywear on Facebook, and following @Watsonsbodywear on Twitter.
