VeggieTales: Veggies In Space Review

Press Sample

I love VeggieTales. I can’t help it.  I really do.  I have ever since I was a young twenty something, and now that I have kids, I have an excuse to watch them again and again.  VeggieTales recently released a new DVD, Veggies In Space- The Fennel Frontier.  I love it.  I especially love this particular VeggieTales DVD because Veggies it provides teachable moments to remind the kidlets: when you have enough to spare, you have enough to share!  Oh my, is that ever a lesson needing reinforcement in our home right now!!

Join Captain Cuke (Larry the Cucumber) and his loyal first officer, Mr. Spork (Bob the Tomato), as they embark on an out of this world adventure to bravely travel where no Veggie has ever been. The entire USS Applepies crew takes on Luntar the Looter, a power stealing space pirate, but they’re in for a big surprise when they find out what’s motivating him!

Isn’t that cute? This DVD plays out  in space and is a parody of  Star Wars and Star Trek.  There is a space pirate attacking the space fleet, meteor showers –popcorn– and battling robots in this one.   The use of some scientific language prompted some study on our part.   Of course, the good guys win in the end and a valuable lesson is learned.  Of all the VeggieTales movies we own (and I think we’re only missing three of all that have ever been produced), this one is among my favorites.

Who is you favorite VeggieTales character?
