With having my second child 7 weeks ago and gaining more weight than anticipated during my pregnancy, I was very excited to have the opportunity to review one of Tracie Long’s latest workout DVD’s, Defining Shape from the Longevity Series.

I chose Defining Shape which is designed to increase lean muscle mass. I have never tried a home DVD workout series before, in the past I have always ran, played basketball or went to a local gym; but since having children I have found doing all of those things more difficult…or even impossible! I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical, I figured it would not be something that I would enjoy.
I am happy to admit that I was pleasantly surprised! For a first-timer like me I thought it was easy to follow Tracie’s instructions and I found the entire routine to be upbeat and spaced out well.  I used light weights (2.5 lbs to start, now 5 lbs) and also a medicine ball. I think my favorite feature is the fact that the entire workout lasts 50 minutes…making it the perfect workout routine during the kiddos nap time!!!
If you are at the stage in your life where you want to live a more fit and healthier lifestyle then I recommend trying Tracie Long “Longevity” Series DVDs. I have shared the past 4 years with a wonderful man, my soul mate, who surprised me with a beautiful engagement this Christmas Eve. We have an amazing 21 month old little girl and will be welcoming a little boy at the end of February :). We share a great passion for animals, even having our own "zoo" at home...4 cats (1 completely blind), 1 dog, a turtle and various fish :) My fiancé is a Dog Trainer at our local no-kill shelter, and I work as a Volunteer Coordinator at the same facility a couple of days a week. :)
