Piggy Paint is Safe for Little Piggies

I first heard of Piggy Paint back in February, from another blogger.  My sister has long offered to paint Sister’s piggies for me, as my hands are not the steadiest when it comes to nail painting.  But, I was hesitant to put any chemicals on Sister’s skin or nails, so I didn’t schedule any mani/pedi’s with Aunt Nee Nee.  So, when I saw the blog post on Piggy Paint, I web jogged over to the Piggy Paint site and found a delightful palette of colors.

The Forever Fancy stole the show for me… look at it!

Piggy Paint™ is specially formulated from God’s natural ingredients and dries to a hard, durable finish. There are no toxic chemicals; it’s free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, Bisphenol A, ethyl acetate and acetone.  Say good-bye to harsh, smelly chemicals and hello to Piggy Paint™…it’s as Natural as Mud!  After reading that it was is all natural, safe for little piggies, and odorless, I ordered a bottle for Sister.  Since Sister has asthma, I have to be careful of the chemical odors that I allow her to be around.

The first time I painted Sister’s nails with the Piggy Paint was for Easter.

And, I fell in love with Piggy Paint.  As did Sister.

I recently received an opportunity to do a review for Piggy Paint.  Of course, I jumped up and down and squealed agreed to do so.  Piggy Paint offered to send me one bottle of Piggy Paint, color chosen at random, and a bottle of the Piggy Paint Remover to facilitate my review.  When I received the package, I had to chuckle, because the color I received was Forever Fancy.  We are destined to have Fancy nails Forever… LOL.

Since Sister is almost eighteen months old now (three days to go), I thought I would celebrate by painting her nails again.  Only, this time, I decided to do it while she was awake… not such a good idea.  Aside from her being a squirmy worm, she was fascinated with the polish bottle and I practically had to wrestle it out of her hands.

I hadn’t planned to have to use the polish remover right away, but since she kept wiggling, it was necessary.  And just like the polish, the remover is virtually odorless.  In fact, my Mom, who absolutely detests the smell of polish remover, didn’t even realize I had it opened when she came to visit.  And more importantly, it didn’t bother Sister’s asthma.

image image What I like about Piggy Paint…

  • It is proven safe
  • It is odorless
  • It is hypoallergenic
  • It is water-based
  • It is durable
  • It is easily removed
  • It is award winning-

Kerasal One Step Exfoliating Moisturizer Therapy

IMG_1125Last week I showed you the results of the pedicure I got while I was in Chicagoland, in Wordless Wednesday-Pedi³.  As a general rule, I do not wear open toed, or open healed shoes, because my feet are horrendous.  My feet are generally very dry, and I get big ugly cracks in my heels all the time.

When I was younger, the skin on my feet was so fragile that it would literally just peel off, which resulted in a lot of scar tissue on my heels (one of the challenges of being affected by Hay Wells Syndrome).  In fact, I literally couldn’t walk on my feet until I was nearly three years old.  Until then, I “walked” on my knees.  So, the cracks in my heels (pictured here) are actually fairly mild compared to the ones I IMG_5143sometimes get.  At times, my heels get so bad that it literally hurts to walk, and I wish I was small enough to walk on my knees again. I’ve often said that I have “elephant hide” on my heels, because they are thick, dry, and ugly.

But, my tootsies have come a LONG way over the last few weeks.  Last summer, I tried out the Kerasal Pumice Paste and was pleased with the results.  It went a long way toward getting (and keeping) my heels in sandal shape.  But, for some reason, this year, my heels have been resistant to shaping up with just the Pumice Paste.  So, I added Kerasal One Step Exfoliating Moisturizer Therapy to my foot care regimen.  My heels are softer, have far fewer cracks, and my feet look better.

Kerasal One Step Exfoliating Moisturizer Therapy is the nation’s #1 selling ointment for softening feet and controlling calluses build up, Kerasal’s Moisturizing Foot Ointment is guaranteed to repair and soften even the toughest, dry feet, cracked heels and calluses when used as directed.  Kerasal’s Exfoliating Moisturizing Foot Ointment for cracked heels is a highly effective, dual action formula that both exfoliates and moisturizes in one step and is guaranteed to soften even the most severely damaged, dry feet.

Kerasal has a full line of Foot Care products for cracked heels and dry feet. Use Kerasal ointment, foot cream or foot lotion to achieve ultimate rejuvenating foot care. Once only available directly from podiatrists who sold it from their offices, Kerasal’s advanced moisturizing Foot Care Products for cracked heels are now widely available over the counter at stores everywhere and online. * Available in 15gm and 30gm sizes

You can find Kerasal One Step Exfoliating Moisturizer Therapy , Kerasal Pumice Paste , and  other great Kerasal products on Amazon.

The thing that I LOVE about Kerasal is that I don’t have to file or scrape my feet or use one of those devices that looks like sharks teeth.  To do so could result in opening one of my old scars, and that, my dear friend, is very painful when it happens.  So, while my feet will certainly never look “typical”  they have been nice enough lately that I was comfortable exposing my feet in front of strangers to get a pedi.  And that is something that I rarely do.

Most people would probably be able to get away with just using the One Step Exfoliating Moisturizer Therapy to keep their feet in flip flop condition.  Because my feet are so challenging, I find that I have better results when I use the two together.

Now, if I could just find something to make my toenails look typical, I would be in sandals all the time!

What I thought…

I am always a little hesitant to try new lotion products on Mister, because of how extremely sensitive his skin is.  One flair up of his eczema can last weeks, and getting it under control again is extremely difficult.  But, when I received the opportunity to review the Episencial Better Body Butter, I read the ingredients and did not see anything listed that will typically cause a flair in Mister’s skin, so I thought I would try it.  The  Episencial Better Body Butter contains olive oil, shea butter, and sunflower seed oil.  I have used olive oil and shea butter on Mister before, and not had any problems.  The Episencial Better Body Butter is thicker than a typical lotion, and glides on easily.  It left Mister’s skin feeling soft and smooth.  We used it for over a week and never noticed any evidence of break out.

What I would change…

The  Episencial Better Body Butter is fantastic as it is.  The only thing I would change would be possibly adding either grape seed oil or green tea to the mix, as both are known anti-oxidants and aid in healing and skin health.

How I rate it:

Lady V dZine gives Episencial Better Body Butter a healthy 5 out of 5 hearts.
